Holiday Organizing with the BoBunny Holiday Planner
I love making planners and journals. Ones for the Holidays are at the top of my favorites list. No wonder I couldn't resist making a purchase when I saw the BoBunny Holiday Planner at my local scrapbooks store (LSS) Scrapbook Heaven.
The instructions that came with the kit were very easy to follow. Now I have a hard time following instructions to the letter so I did make some minor changes. One thing was buying some of the same patterned paper in the shimmer version. They were not used in the kit to keep the cost down.
For cutting, I used the BasicGrey Magnetic Precision Mat Kit. I have several paper cutters and trimmers but a mat and a craft knife is still my preferred method.
First, I cut out the sizes recommended for the first couple dividers, trimmed to fit the tabbed dividers and then adhered with Terrifically Tacky Tape by Provo Craft. TTT makes a very strong bond. Make sure you know exactly where you want to place something because there is no going back. This worked well but was way too many steps for my taste. Read - lazy.
Next, using the magnets in the mat kit, I laid the divider on the reverse side of the paper. These papers are doubled sided. Make sure you have the paper going the correct direction and in a place where you like how the pattern will look. Next, using my craft knife, I cut around the dividers. Ta-da! One less step.
Finally, I moved on to putting adhesive, using a Xyron Cheetah adhesive runner, directly on the divider. Next I placed the adhesive side down on the paper and cut it to fit with the craft knife. This was a much faster process.
Both the Terrifically Tacky Tape and the Cheetah runner can get pricey when covering a lot of surfaces. Each divider was covered on each side so it did add up. I try to use my craft store or LSS coupons for buying expensive adhesive. You can also look for sales and online to find the best price.

Next time, I probably would not cover the surface so thoroughly with adhesive. This is a 2007 planner so it won't be something used a lot after this year. I will keep it was a memory of this holiday season.
The kit comes with a few pages to use behind each divider. You can add as many as the rings will hold. I did not load the rings up with a lot of ribbon as that makes it difficult to open and flip the pages.
If you like kits where everything is precut for you, this isn't the kit for you. I did not find the cutting difficult, however.
This was a fun kit to make. Many LSS offer this as a class.
